Untold QAnon Origins: Wikileaks, The Magic Mirror and The Abyss.
INTRODUCTION
In “Untold QAnon Origins: Project Mayhem 2012” (https://medium.com/@yhly2f/untold-qanon-origins-project-mayhem-2012-3249e6c2cfbc), I brought up Julian Assange’s connection to an LSD mind-control cult which called itself “The Family” and “The Great White Brotherhood” (https://psychedelicdungeon.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/wikifreaks-pt-1-eat-pray-leak/). Jacob Appelbaum (ioerror), who was also heavily involved in Wikileaks and Tor, is the son of Ricky Applebaum who participated in the infamous Laurel Canyon scene with Frank Zappa and Charles Manson (https://perpus.univpancasila.ac.id/repository/EBUPT200367.pdf pg. 139). In an interview with Carl Franzoni, associate of Vito Paulekas of proto-hippie group “Vito and the Freakers”, Carl states: “Applebaum took over Vito’s place when Vito vacated at Beverly & Laurel. So he inherited all the people that came there after that…he was the beginning of the Manson clan.” (https://www.united-mutations.com/f/franzoni_trubee_int_nov2002.htm). Dave McGowan has an account of Vito and the Freakers in chapter 6 of his Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon (https://archive.org/details/weirdscenesinsidethecanyonlaurelcanyoncovertopsthedarkheartofthehippiedream2014b).
It is tempting to view Wikileaks in the context of the familiar mind control cults connected to the personal histories of Assange and Appelbaum, and then to use this to explain Wikileaks’ connection to QAnon. Regardless of whether there are direct links between these influences and the actions of Assange and Appelbaum as public figures, we can at least observe that both grew up close to the ideological vortex of the new age movement. Although Assange was officially not one of the children kidnapped by The Family, his own recollection of his childhood, as told in Julian Assange: The Unauthorized Autobiography (2011), paints him as the child of a travelling hippie artist and comprises countercultural influences which would grow up with him through his involvement in the utopian hacker culture. These influences were transmuted, as was the case for many children of the 70s living in the new millenium, into the high-tech liberal idealism he would champion in Wikileaks. Similarly, regardless of whether there’s any significance to Jacob Appelbaum’s father’s connection to the Manson family, Appelbaum also grew up in marginal, countercultural circumstances.
In addition to the material from Wikileaks’ 2016 leaks which directly inspired the QAnon conspiracy, the persona of Q is similar to that of a Wikileaks source: a conscientious insider who has to remain anonymous while leaking important information to the public, in order to expose the crimes of the system. In fact, there were many Q-esque “fake insiders” in the conspiracy culture in the years leading up to Q:
David Wilcock’s “Drake”: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0A7E365327CE00C0, https://www.thelastamericanvagabond.com/drake-bailey-a-coup-of-the-us-empire/
“Paladin” (who I am pretty sure is Benjamin Fulford) and the “white hats”: https://whitehatsreport.com/, https://www.youtube.com/@WhiteHatsMediaGroup, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovpg5xcHtu0
Victory of the Light’s “Cobra”: https://2012portal.blogspot.com/, http://web.archive.org/web/20120616011829/http://the2012scenario.com/2012/06/cobra-exclusive-world-first-radio-interview-surrender-of-the-cabal-mass-arrests-and-so-much-more/, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDQHlFbnjsY
“V the Guerilla Economist”: http://web.archive.org/web/20160328071829/https://www.stevequayle.com/index.php?s=33&d=1040, https://trackingmeroz.wordpress.com/tag/v-the-guerilla-economist/, http://projectavalon.net/Project_Avalon_Newsletter_2_23_November_2014.pdf
“W the Intelligence Insider” (later re-branded as the QAnon influencer Juan O Savin): https://trackingmeroz.wordpress.com/tag/w-the-intelligence-insider/, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEsZgo3N97Miq2i02HqsLro0lfRHSgNd0
Investigation of the people promoting these “insiders” reveals that most of them are deep into the new-age movement. In this context, it’s easy to see that their fake insider personas, along with the persona of Q, are the equivalent of new-age “channeled entities” (https://www.lawofone.info/) repackaged for the post-Wikileaks era. What, then, is the relationship between these and the real insiders who leaked to Wikileaks?
EXPOSITION
Let’s return to Project Mayhem 2012 (PM2012) and whatis-theplan.org (WITP). The motto of WITP was “One Year. Three Phases. A World of Change.”, although the plan was never given in any truly coherent form (http://web.archive.org/web/20110811030043/http://www.whatis-theplan.org/t4743-making-the-plan-accessible-and-actionable, http://web.archive.org/web/20110809214211/http://www.whatis-theplan.org/t1-what-is-the-plan). On Oct. 30, 2016, Wikileaks would Tweet about beginning “Phase 3” of their election coverage, with an image showing the blown-up text “Phase 3”. However, nobody AFAIK ever figured out what they meant by “Phase 3”. According to the lore of the “Wikileaks is Compromised”, “Assange is dead” LARP, these releases were pre-empted by the powers that be taking action against Wikileaks. A thread on endchan from this time, related to the aspect of this LARP where Wikileaks had supposedly managed to upload the decryption keys to their “insurance files” to the blockchain and anons were searching for them, also features the phrase “WE ARE PHASE 3” used in the same way “WE ARE THE PLAN” would later be used in QAnon: https://archive.is/M1qVM. It also features a white rabbit, in association with Assange, a year before the phrase “follow the white rabbit” would be popularized in QAnon (but 5 years after the phrase “follow the white rabbit” was used in PM2012).
Whatis-theplan.org (WITP) is suspected of having been a honeypot for Anonymous due to it being created days after Sabu was turned by the feds, its outspoken support of the #Antisec honeypot and for promoting IRL street activism (https://jimmysllama.com/2022/03/12/20083/). WITP was also accused of being against the values of Anonymous since it was a regular forum site where users had to register and post with usernames, rather than anonymously. One of the people who would become involved with WITP was the anon known as R3x/Telemachos/Fighter From a Distance. He was an activist anon who ran the /i/nsurgency wiki for a while, and then later ran 888chan as an attempt to have a chan site dedicated to Chanology-style activism (https://edramatica.com/888chan). He started modding WITP (although he wasn’t the creator of WITP) after the death of 888chan. Users of WITP accused him of trying to recruit them into a cult (https://pastebin.com/VNWrLTMa). But surprisingly, this was not referring to PM2012, but to R3x’s ideas such as “Vibecraft” (yet another ARG involving Anonymous — https://web.archive.org/web/20100127182219/http://vibeslashnet.wordpress.com/) and his involvement with the Cassiopaeans, an online alien-channeling cult ran by Laura Knight-Jadczyk. Along with typical new-age ideas such as “5d ascension” (https://cassiopaea.org/2010/09/15/the-cassiopaeans-answer-questions-about-ascension/), Laura Knight-Jadczyk and her husband, physicist Arkadiusz Jadczyk (https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Arkadiusz_Jadczyk), have been significant promoters of “quantum woo” theories through their “Quantum Future School of Ascension” (https://web.archive.org/web/20030416142103/http://www.cassiopaea.org:80/cass/), “Quantum Future Group” (https://quantumfuturegroup.org/) and “Fellowship of the Cosmic Mind” (https://paleochristianity.org/). In a thread on the Cassiopaea forum (https://cassiopaea.org/forum/threads/jake-sully-anonymous-and-whatistheplan-psyops.24816/), R3x is made to apologize to the community for bringing negative attention on them due to promoting their ideas on WITP. It is alleged in the thread that either R3x is a government agent, or that there is some other government effort to harm Anonymous and/or Cassiopaea. They refer to another article about an instance of alleged infiltration of Anonymous: https://www.sott.net/article/234259-The-New-COINTELPRO-Cyberwarfare-hacktivists-and-the-Subversion-of-Anonymous. Although it’s hard to tell when R3x (username “Jakesully”) is telling the truth, he admits to being in the marines and says he was punished for posting 9/11 conspiracies and this caused him to get into Anonymous activism as an escape. The thread devolves into a period of trolling where anons from IRC try to promote the idea that R3x is a military asset, and also a Brony (https://mulpwiki.batpony.party/index.php/WITP_trolls_Cassiopaea_cult). Then, at the end of the thread, the trolling anons and the Cassiopaeans become friends. I also found dox of another WITP principal, the site owner Mavendetta. The dox claimed that he was also ex-navy.
During my investigation of R3x and Mavendetta, I found typical mod drama and Anonymous movement drama, but suspiciously little that indicated the mods were aware or concerned in any way about Project Mayhem 2012. The exception is the IRC log where R3x objects to PM2012, calling it a chaos magick ARG and “cointelpro” (https://pastebin.com/2ASQ1yPg). It is disturbing that even in rare contemporary discussion of WITP as part of Anonymous history, no one seems to be aware of PM2012 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPcCGoqQWXU @ 1:07:00). The user “Xonox Galatorg”, one of the participants in the PM2012 thread on WITP, expressed doubt that the WITP mods and admins were involved in PM2012, although he mused that “… they didn’t kick us off the forum or anything … thing is, is the project mayhem thread on WITP was probably a quarter of the website, it was like a quarter of all of the posts on the website” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_jE1movndU @ 35:00). Based on archives of WITP from the Wayback Machine, Galatorg’s statement is hyperbolic since there were about 20,000 threads made on the forum. Regardless, his sentiment is valid because from an historical perspective, PM2012 was the most interesting thing that occurred there. The PM2012 content on the forum was concentrated in two main threads totaling about 1400 posts (https://web.archive.org/web/20110925082702/http://www.whatis-theplan.org:80/t1676-project-mayhem-2012, https://web.archive.org/web/20120114101650/http://www.whatis-theplan.org/t13994-project-mayhem-2012-part-2). In the language of ARGs, the appearance of the public forum WITP could be viewed as a “trailhead” functioning to attract potential users (who would be naive young internet users attracted to the idea of “Anonymous” activism, and not even experienced Anons, since those tended to be skeptical of the WITP forum and attacked it) and from there, expose them to the occult mysteries of the PM2012 ARG. Or, it could have simply been a convenient platform. It’s also noteworthy that around July 23, 2011, the theme of the WITP site was altered to feature graphics of bees. Bees are used in the PM2012 ARG, and this bears a suspicious similarity to how the cicada is used in the later Cicada 3301 ARG.
The meme of “The Plan” predates WITP (http://web.archive.org/web/20110828192422/http://www.whatis-theplan.org:80/t13714-the-plan-and-it-s-phases-for-all-to-see) and can be found at least as early as the mid-2000s in Jacque Fresco’s utopian Venus Project: https://web.archive.org/web/20060321052428/http://www.thevenusproject.com/intro_main/aims.htm. A later (but still pre-WITP) version uses “What is The Plan?”, seeming to clearly link it to WITP in some way: https://web.archive.org/web/20100627105441/http://thevenusproject.com/the-venus-project-introduction/faq, and it is still featured on the current Venus Project site: https://www.thevenusproject.com/faq/what-is-the-plan/. Jacque Fresco, born in 1916, was a member of Technocracy, Inc. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTEq1joaTWA), the futurist pseudo-totalitarian movement from the 30s that Elon Musk’s grandfather was in (https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/longform/technocracy-incorporated-elon-musk/). Fresco later spoke at conferences of the World Future Society, which was co-founded by Barbara Marx Hubbard, who was the mentor of Lisa Clapier (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vjDZQF4tOs), suspect figure in QAnon origins and someone who was known to be infiltrating new-age ideas into the Anonymous and Occupy movements starting around 2011 (https://www.youtube.com/@UnanimousReports/videos, https://archive.org/details/lisa-clapier-archives). There was discussion on WITP about The Venus Project, the associated Zeitgeist movement and their program for a “Resource Based Economy” (http://web.archive.org/web/20111220045956/http://www.whatis-theplan.org/t1069-official-resource-based-economy-technical-research-thread), so much so that a sub-forum had to be created for it (https://web.archive.org/web/20110814085146/http://www.whatis-theplan.org:80/t6839-community-update-archives). The Venus Project also came up more recently in connection with the death of YouTuber Etika (https://avoider.net/7619/etika-venus-project/).
This is all complicated by the fact that “The Plan” also appears in 2008 in the very first thread on 4chan’s /b/ for the Chanology raids on Scientology, regarded as the birth of Anonymous as a protest movement (https://web.archive.org/web/20080123050101/http://4chanarchive.org/brchive/dspl_thread.php5?thread_id=51051816&x=scientology+raid27). The Chanology protests vaguely followed Phases 1 and 2 of this plan, and the signifier “Phase 3” was hijacked in an effort by trolls to take their movement back to its chaotic roots from the “srs business” activists who’d been attracted to Anonymous due to the Chanology publicity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPoIGXJJmnM). This is interesting because this effort came from the “Thunderdome” section of the enturbulation.org forums (used for organizing Chanology protests), where WITP mod R3x/Telemachos is said to have been a poster.
Returning to 2011, Russian-speaking anons on WITP were already formulating their own version of The Plan, foreshadowing the later Russian role in the 2010s mind wars (https://odysee.com/@SubversionDiversion:8/The-Greatest-Information-Operation-In-The-History-Of-Humanity-(Part-V)---What-is-Q:7): http://www.whatis-theplan.org:80/t1001-phase-1-russia. I’ll also add that there was significant activity of the Venus Project in Russia (https://www.bigworldsmallsasha.com/2019/09/13/why-i-left-the-venus-project/). On the blog of later QAnon influencer “VictoryOfTheLight”/@KibBitzLaw, “The Plan” had been adapted into a more bizarre, NESARA-esque theory combining alien invasion, currency reset and spiritual ascension as early as 2012 (http://2012portal.blogspot.com/2012/04/plan-2012-normal-0-microsoftinternetexp.html). Also in 2012, new-age alien guru David Wilcock was promoting his fake insider character, “Drake”, who described “The Plan” as a plan for a patriotic coup going back to the 1970s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGAHLBBXuYE). In 2013, another iteration turns up, this time clearly influenced by Project Mayhem 2012: https://pastebin.com/C7wW5bX1.
On July 11 of 2011, another character named Clif High posted a link to WITP on his own blog, halfpasthuman.com (http://web.archive.org/web/20110715081233/http://www.halfpasthuman.com:80/a_nony_mooz.html). Clif High is an eccentric computer programmer who is known for inventing a kind of internet prophecy engine called “web bots”, which supposedly pulls massive amounts of text from the internet and runs language analytics on it to allow him to discern the signals in the collective unconscious, which he uses to create his “ALTA Reports” (http://galaksija.com/literatura/shape_10.pdf) to predict future events. In his own words, he associates this with remote viewing, as seen from his blog’s subtitle, “Adventures in Future Viewing”. He claims to have been raised in the military in West Germany (https://www.languagemagazine.com/language-magazine-interview-with-clif-high/) and remains active as of 2024, participating in online media on topics such as crypto, UFOs and spiritual conspiracy theories.
Clif even got some publicity recently when he seemed to predict the New Jersey drone panic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xCnA2YHgws). He is similar to many people connected to QAnon origins who are into new-age ideas, connected to the world of military and technology, and specifically cybernetics and research into the deep ways technology can interface with human cognition. Clif’s technical specialization is in computational linguistics and the human factors of typography such as readability. For instance, one of his products at his old software firm, Tenax SE, was a patented speed-reading program that allowed users to read faster by flashing the words one-at-a-time in rapid succession, in varying sizes and colors (patent: http://www.rexresearch.com/highspeedread/highspeedread.htm). I wonder (without evidence) if this specialty could have anything to do with the striking use of text in the PM2012 ARG.
Clif also promotes the use of dicyanin goggles, which he claims allow him to see UFOs (https://rumble.com/v5wcto8-clif-high-dimensional-dicyanin-glasses-tested-in-viet-nam.html). These goggles use a special dye that makes UV light visible, but they have a history in the new-age scene as “aura goggles” and recently appear linked to bizarre, ARG-esque content such as this website for “Duquel Industries” (https://duquel.com/product/dicyanin-goggles-klina-screen-pranaview/). In an article by AJ Weberman on Mankind Research Unlimited (https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP90-00845R000100190004-3.pdf page 15), a think tank involved in Cold War psychic research, it is noted that MRU also sold these goggles. Clif High reminds me of certain other people around MRU, such as the late Iona Miller (https://ionamiller.weebly.com/), who was connected to MRU along with her ex-husband, Richard Alan Miller (https://ionamiller.weebly.com/mankind-research.html). Iona Miller (1949–2021) was an eccentric artist and practitioner/researcher of esoteric ideas such as “Synergetic Qabala, Psychogenesis, Dreamhealing, Qabala Shamanism, Mystical Poetry, UFO Phenomenon, Quantum Physics, Cosmology/Time, Hypnotherapy, Psychedelia, Self-Actualization Parapsychology, Consciousness Studies” (the list goes on…) who reproduced her writings across a seemingly-endless series of websites through the 2000s and 2010s (http://ionatopia.iwarp.com/). She claimed a past association with the Brotherhood of Eternal Love LSD cult (http://ionamiller.iwarp.com/whats_new_15.html). Miller was connected to QAnon through her association with Thomas Schoenberger (https://daniel-ed-morrison.medium.com/the-troll-who-created-qanon-9a31e9b10b14). This association was based on their mutual interest in occult topics, and specifically a project they created for a movie centered around the historical Count of St. Germain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbN-I1VlI20, https://trianglebook.weebly.com/, https://thecountmovie.weebly.com/). Schoenberger is a musician who has business and family relations with Michael Flynn and who is commonly accused of having some part in creating QAnon (https://heavy.com/news/thomas-schoenberger-qanon/). He appeared in Episode 5 of the HBO “Q: Into the Storm” documentary. Schoenberger previously owned a business called Intelibaby where he created music to make babies smarter: https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/hardly-a-lullaby-a-violent-attack-turned-napa-2669136.php.
Iona Miller claimed that her mentor was Stanley Krippner, a hypnotist and child psychologist who, amongst other appointments held during a distinguished career, was Vice President of the National Association for Gifted Children from 1976 to 1977 (https://stanleykrippner.weebly.com/--vitae.html, https://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/stanley-krippner). Miller’s memoir of her early life centers around her experience in the precursor to California’s Mentally Gifted Minors program (http://ionamiller.iwarp.com/whats_new_14.html). Julian Assange met his first wife in a similar program (https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/julian-assange-wikileaks-life-stella-moris-marriage-relationships-b1167169.html), immediately after the period in his life where he was on the run from the Australian cult, “The Family”. Stanley Krippner collaborated with Soviet scientists in parapsychology and attended the First International Congress of Parapsychology and Psychotronics in Prague in 1973 (https://mediatedsignals.com/2021/04/26/the-comet-the-typist-and-the-psychotronic-think-tank-a-tale-of-the-new-age/), and he also published and edited the book “Suggestology and Outlines of Suggestopedy” by Georgi Lozanov, which is a system for accelerated learning by inducing a pre-hypnotic state of suggestibility (https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP96-00788R001300020001-6.pdf pg 62 of pdf) He was also mentioned in the AJ Weberman article cited above as associated with Mankind Research Unlimited. The era of Cold War psychic research that Krippner participated in has been resurrected in the American-Russian mind wars of the QAnon era, so it is noteworthy that an associate of Krippner’s like Iona Miller turns out to be connected to the origins of QAnon.
Iona Miller also associated with Mark Stahlman (https://ionamillersubjects.weebly.com/lsd-althistory.html), cyberneticist who worked at Lyndon Larouche’s Computron software company in the 70s and who claims to be motivated by his father’s relationship with the creator of cybernetics, Norbert Weiner (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/286652382_Wiener's_Genius_Project). Stahlman was involved in several tech companies in the 90s such as AOL and currently runs the Center for the Study of Digital Life (https://www.digitallife.center/), a think tank that promotes a kind of modern-archaic synthesis of media theory and medieval philosophy. Consider the similarities between: Schoenberger’s music for babies, Krippner’s child learning and hypnosis research, Clif High’s speed-reading software. Sounds similar to Elon Musk’s Neuralink? There are many kinds of brain-computer interface. A screen is a brain-computer interface. The classic cult manipulation techniques, not to mention political ideology, are also about finding ways to interface human cognition to external systems. I don’t have a fully-developed theory for how these aspects relate to the main narrative here, only to note that they appear everywhere and I believe they are truly significant in some way to all of this. I even forgot to mention that Laura Knight-Jadczyk and Iona Miller were both also trained in hypnosis. For more on the nexus of new-age movements, UFOs and Cold War psychic research, see the “Stargate Conspiracy” series of podcasts by Return of the Repressed on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/c/TheReturnOfTheRepressed/posts) or the book of the same name by Picknett & Prince.
Thomas Schoenberger’s relationship to QAnon is very difficult to explain and has been subject to a huge amount of speculation online, not to mention the mainstream sources cited above. A summary can be found here: https://www.cicap.org/n/articolo.php?id=1800673, https://www.cicap.org/n/articolo.php?id=1800734, https://www.cicap.org/n/articolo.php?id=1800786. More or less, Schoenberger is accused of trying to copy the Cicada3301 ARG which began on 4chan in 2012 by making his own puzzles in the style of Cicada3301, and then attempting to trademark the intellectual property of Cicada3301 and leverage the popularity of the puzzles to produce entertainment franchises such as a Cicada3301 movie. In this, Iona Miller was also peripherally involved, although the details are unclear. The relation to QAnon origins is because Schoenberger’s “fake Cicada3301” puzzles contained some elements which would later be seen in QAnon. Among these is “follow the white rabbit” (http://web.archive.org/web/20180826171644/https://www.bitchute.com/video/1jEChDZQXTkg/), which has some prior usage in the Discordian or occult UFO subculture (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6o3ugInA9w). In my first article, I showed how “follow the white rabbit” was used in the Project Mayhem 2012 ARG years before it was part of Schoenberger’s fake Cicada3301 puzzles. An individual using the handle “white rabbit” was a collaborator of Schoenberger’s online LARPs during the immediate pre-QAnon era and was involved, along with Schoenberger, in the Seth Rich LARP (https://jimmysllama.com/category/the-rabbit-files/, https://trackingmeroz.wordpress.com/tag/shadowbox-strategies/, https://web.archive.org/web/20210820213635/www.thedailybeast.com/right-wing-activists-discussed-wiretapping-seth-richs-family-three-people-in-the-room-say/), meaning they were involved in another LARP that was heavily adjacent to Q and also to Wikileaks and to the issue of determining attribution for the 2016 leaks. The actual Q posts never mention “follow the white rabbit”, but some of the earliest posts do mention “alice in wonderland” and “snow white”. “snow white” is a handle used by Lisa Clapier, another associate of Schoenberger and early QAnon promoter. Although these connections mean something, it’s impossible to prove that any of these people were writing the Q posts and none of them are very much suspected of having done so by the QAnon origins research community.
This tangled web is typical of the QAnon origins research nexus, which consistently yields more questions than answers. As with “The Plan” and “follow the white rabbit”, there are instances of prior use of the handle “Q” which can provide some clues, although none can conclusively give us the identity of Q. In Aaron Barr’s notes on his infiltration of the Anonymous movement, which were leaked in the HBGary hack, he has a user “Q” who he believes is a high-level member of Anonymous (https://cryptome.org/0003/anonymous-barr.pdf). This seems to be the “q” handle present in the LulzSec IRC logs: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2011/02/virtually-face-to-face-when-aaron-barr-met-anonymous/ and who is featured in many other IRC logs in Gabriella Coleman’s Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy (2014). In a story by Parmy Olson, a handle “q” reaches out to LulzSec on behalf of Wikileaks (https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2012/05/new-book-wikileaks-wanted-lulzsecs-help-to-hack-iceland/). This appears to be a separate “q” who was the Wikileaks associate known as “Siggi the Hacker” and who is written about in Parmy Olson’s We Are Anonymous (2012). Chet Uber, who helped Adrian Lamo turn in Chelsea Manning, is heard in a phone call from 2012 (https://soundcloud.com/parrot-943611502/chet-uber-9-22-2012-1st-call, https://soundcloud.com/parrot-943611502/chet_uber_pt2_9-22-mp3, https://soundcloud.com/parrot-943611502/chet-uber-9-28-2012-2nd-call) claiming that Neal Rauhauser, another prolific troll involved in drama around Anonymous, has stolen a social media analytics or manipulation tool called the “Q set of all Q” and plans to use it to cause political chaos. Steve Quayle, a conspiracy theorist of the “Christan prophecy” variant, was branding his reports as “Q-Files” as early as 2002. In 2014, he would feature a report from the fake insider “V the Guerilla Economist” as one of his “Q-Alerts” (https://web.archive.org/web/20150214131433/stevequayle.com/index.php?s=33&d=1040). In 2001, a post by “patriotlad” on the rumormillnews.net site (https://web.archive.org/web/20010413043402/http://www.rumormillnews.net/cgi-bin/config.pl?read=7937) relayed messages about Hillary Clinton from a mysterious “Q”.
In the IAM cult of the 1930s, viewed by researchers as a significant influence on QAnon (https://washingtonspectator.org/paranoia-on-parade/), there was a Q-like character called “K-17” (http://www.tyob.info/public/archived_sites/users.on.net/~thefirstbruce/Ballards/PsyDict.pdf ch 30, https://www.elementalgracealliance.com/I%20Am%20Discourses%20on%20America%2016%20Mighty%20K-17.pdf, https://www.myascendedmasters.org/2024/beloved-k-17-dictation-with-song-754-october-6-1993/), who was supposedly a high-level insider from the “Inner Secret Service” (meaning, the “secret service” of the inner or spiritual world. This is relevant to the analysis I’ll make in the conclusion of this article.), allied with the cult. The name is noteworthy because of the meaning ascribed to “17” in QAnon lore, representing the position of the letter Q in the alphabet. K-17 might be the earliest example of the new-age channeled entity as “fake insider” I presented in the beginning of this article. Finally, in August 2017, a few months before the Q posts started on /pol/, a post was made on 4chan’s /x/ with the subject “I am a querent, ask me anything” (https://archive.4plebs.org/x/thread/19389494). In this thread, OP explores the concept of querency, which refers to the state of being in questioning, and its relation to internet search technologies and evolving self-consciousness of the internet. The discussion of querency would foreshadow the coming of QAnon as a conspiracy-generation engine that functioned not by disseminating information, but by asking questions which provoked its followers to generate the conspiracies themselves.
While the Project Mayhem 2012 (PM2012) ARG was running on WITP, the larger Anonymous movement was focused on supporting Occupy, Wikileaks and LulzSec. The HBGary hack by Anonymous had resulted in the “Team Themis” scandal, implicating Peter Thiel’s Palantir (https://www.jacobsilverman.com/p/preservation-over-cause-remembering). This story hardly ever comes up in current criticism of Thiel. It is relevant because in the HBGary hack, anons found documents about “persona management”, which is the use of fake social media accounts to interfere with activist movements and spread disinfo. Anons termed this technology “Metal Gear” (http://web.archive.org/web/20111015104858/http://www.echelon2.org:80/wiki/Metal_Gear), and Barrett Brown led the effort to compile the information in his “Project PM” (https://archive.org/details/ProjectPmWARC). The concept of “persona management” naturally leads to recent speculation about bots, AI and “Dead Internet Theory”. The Project Mayhem 2012 ARG (PM2012) came to my attention via videos from multiple people in the online conspiracy culture who had mental breakdowns (Tracy Twyman, Nathan Stolpman, Quinn Michaels) in relation to their fears of a sentient AI taking over the internet. These people were experiencing paranoid-psychotic delusions, but they were all also experiencing real online harassment via an array of technologies including bots, social media manipulation and the use of hypnotic/disturbing visual content. The details and allegations around this harassment are beyond the scope of this article, but are well-known in the online “truther” community regarding these and other victims. The reason for the harassment seems to be that the victims used their online platforms to engage with the content of Pizzagate and QAnon conspiracy LARPs in a way that undermined the intentions of the people otherwise promoting them. The fact that content from PM2012 is brought up in the delusions of several of these victims suggests an association between the people who did this harassment, PM2012, and the broader QAnon operation.

Recently, the Allatra cult and the videos of a possibly AI-generated scientist, Egon Cholakian, went viral (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEc5WjufSps, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NxoQUpvEJg). The cult appears to use AI video technology and bot farms to spread its message. In this context, the concern about AI is less about the argument over what qualifies as “real AI” but rather the implications of a complex of technologies that are accelerating in their ability to effect uncanny and manipulative changes in peoples’ psychology. Generative AI is a powerful advance in this category of technology, and its use in the Allatra cult should be taken as a sign of things to come. Generative AI is perfectly suited for use by occultists as an oracle, and the somehow-impersonal, disembodied voice it speaks with is perfect for generating “channeled content”. One mystery about Allatra is that we don’t really know how or to what extent they’re using AI. The people appear to actually exist, although the videos are processed somehow and show people behaving and moving in unnatural ways. The thing I find fascinating is that these types of cults have always cultivated an uncanny, almost robotic appearance. This reminds me of the Dead Internet conspiracy theory, which is almost certainly not true in its superficial form where the vast majority of internet content is alleged to be generated by bots. In fact, in this form, the Dead Internet theory is the same belief driving the psychotic breakdowns described in the above paragraph, and aligns with a classic psychotic delusion of reference where “nobody around me is real”. The dialectically true form of Dead Internet theory (http://web.archive.org/web/20210831132917/https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2021/08/dead-internet-theory-wrong-but-feels-true/619937/) is the one where you’re viewing real peoples’ posts, but the people are acting like bots due to being so thoroughly hooked into the system of cybernetic feedback loops which condition their responses, producing an uncanny effect similar to the Allatra videos. And perhaps the new-age cults, with all their connections to cybernetic research, anticipated and integrated this into their practice (https://mksscryertower.quest/Slavery%20in%20piracy%20groups,%20criminal%20groups%20and%20in%20cults.html). The Allatra “Creative Society” concept seems to be described in this paper from a 2015 seminar by the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering (https://bibliotekanauki.pl/articles/268148), which has the theme of building a society of creative super-geniuses by using “accelerated learning” technologies. On the Allatra Creative Society website, a familiar three-stage plan appears…
Allatra is reminiscent of (and alleged by some as connected to: https://newssky.com.ua/en/allatra-yak-sektantske-oblychchya-ruskogo-myru-abo-chergovyj-instrument-antyhrysta-v-ukrayini/) a previous Russian cult, “Great White Brotherhood / YUSMALOS” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZkb0K23AJk). YUSMALOS was founded by Maria Tsvigun and Yuri Krivonogov, the latter of whom was alleged to be a KGB researcher in hypnosis. Similar people such as Andrija Puharich, hypnotist, were involved in the development of American UFO culture during the Cold War (https://visupview.blogspot.com/2011/06/on-hypnosis-part-ii.html). Julian Assange’s “The Family” cult also believed itself to be part of the “Great White Brotherhood” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Family_(Australian_New_Age_group)). The “Great White Brotherhood” concept is associated with the IAM movement (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_White_Brotherhood: “The term Great White Brotherhood was further developed and popularized in 1934 with the publication of ‘Unveiled Mysteries’ by Guy Ballard’s ‘I AM’ Activity.”), which is a documented influence on QAnon (https://davetroy.medium.com/the-big-history-behind-january-6th-part-5-molestation-cancel-culture-and-qanon-bac7f73c591c). The phrase “white hats” in QAnon is speculated to refer to the same concept as “Great White Brotherhood”, and goes back at least to the early 2010s in the “White Hats Report” (https://whitehatsreport.com/, https://www.youtube.com/@WhiteHatsMediaGroup). This and others such as VictoryOfTheLight (https://2012portal.blogspot.com/), come roughly out of the 2000s-era NESARA and 11:11(https://www.youtube.com/@nvisible11, https://anvisible.com, https://nvisible.com) new-age movements/cults. In NESARA, the insiders were known as the “white knights” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--UntiMg1SI). So, what does it mean that we can trace these new-age cults that featured heavily in QAnon back to the Australian cult that was trying to kidnap Julian Assange as a child and which, according to unproven but obvious speculation, may have played a more significant role in his life than is told by the official story?
CONCLUSION
During the early 2010s, intelligence insiders who would be linked to QAnon such as Michael Flynn (https://www.cnas.org/publications/reports/fixing-intel-a-blueprint-for-making-intelligence-relevant) and Robert David Steele (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GupE82xmUuQ) were developing the concept of OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence), where public data, mostly scraped from the internet, is used to produce intelligence products for the state. During this time, we see government programs aimed at understanding and instrumentalizing leaderless, internet-based collectives (https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/coe-cvada-factsheet_190529-508.pdf). The revelations about Team Themis and suspicions about the manipulation of the Anonymous movement via the WITP forum indicate that the OSINT concept was being implemented in the world of online activist culture years before QAnon.
In 2006, Julian Assange published these essays on his site, iq.org: https://cryptome.org/0002/ja-conspiracies.pdf. Assange wanted to undermine the authoritarian institutions of control in the world by making it harder for actors to communicate within those institutions. Assange’s approach was based on a model of systems: the mathematical “graph theory” which is well-known in computer science. Wikileaks’ actions had a huge impact on the way institutions handled information, accelerating the trend towards OSINT. Assange thought he was dismantling these systems, but he was naive. His method of stimulating the schizogenic “attack from the inside” was also helping to turn these systems inside-out. Institutions responded to Wikileaks’ threat to their cognitive structures by becoming schizophrenic, with the corresponding paranoid turn towards identifying potential “insider enemies” (leakers) and rushing to develop new types of information warfare and IIA (Interactive Internet Activities) capabilities (https://www.bitchute.com/video/DS7CN67XL1lb) to control online movements. The information leaked to Wikileaks was leaked from inside secretive institutions without passing through any proper interface, making it impossible to understand and process by the public. Therefore, in the public, it took on the form of a delusion. While Assange succeeded in damaging these institutions, he failed to anticipate the effect of the leaked information, which represents the institutions’ unfiltered “thought”, on the public. The doomed attempt to deconstruct institutions via information leaks, as a “hack”, anticipates the schizo-cult politics of the QAnon era because it views the world’s systems of control as systems of information, primarily, rather than real systems based on real, material interests and processes.
If OSINT can be modeled as an intelligence agency turning itself inside-out, Wikileaks, as a non-state intelligence agency, can be modeled as the intelligence component of an inside-out state. The ontological status of Wikileaks can be related to the concept of a “translation device outside of a system” from my trialectics article (https://medium.com/@yhly2f/by-anonymous-9c73055e4741). Instead of penetrating and exfiltrating information from a system such as in a targeted intelligence operation, Wikileaks makes itself open to receive information from any unstable insiders of any system (an agentic inversion of the operation performed by a hacker). Despite championing openness, Wikileaks itself is a secretive organization. It is open to receive information without consent from other systems, but it is not transparent. Therefore, it is still strongly coherent as a system and as an agent. Wikileaks’ activity is determined by its leakers, who set the criteria for what Wikileaks can publish. In this sense, Wikileaks and QAnon share the characteristic of querency (discussed earlier). Critics thought Wikileaks’ model wouldn’t work because they would be flooded with fake information. This didn’t happen. Instead, Wikileaks’ insiders and their information were real, but produced a conspiracy theory that not only wasn’t real, it was one of the great mass delusions of history.
Now, we can address the question, “Is Wikileaks a cult?”. As the intelligence agency of an inside-out state, Wikileaks is actually an intelligence querency. As a cult is either an imaginary state (https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2012/07/17/iowa-senate-candidate-drops-out-becomes-%E2%80%98senator%E2%80%99-sovereign-group, https://www.youtube.com/@GALACTICALLIANCE-ff6qk) or an inside-out state (in my trialectic theory these are the same thing), the intelligence agency of a cult is also an intelligence querency. In other words, the intelligence agency of a cult is a channeler. QAnon is a channeled entity and Wikileaks is the channeler. As we proceed chronologically from Wikileaks in 2011 to QAnon in 2020, we start with an organization leaking state secrets in the name of humanistic ideals. Even QAnon content in 2017 starts out being focused on the real-world issues of the Trump FISAgate affair, before degenerating into the schizo-cult politics of QAnon circa 2020. This gradient is precisely the shift from channeler to entity, or from schizophrenic real system (Wikileaks as an intelligence agency of every state in the world, or of no state, or of all the unstable, schizogenic individuals — leakers — in all the world’s real states) to imaginary system (the imaginary entity Q, the imaginary world-system of QAnon), which are in fact the same system.
